The goal is by 2020, through a combination of reductions and streamlining efforts, to reduce energy and GHG emissions by 10% and waste by 50% (using 2014 as the baseline).
Under the leadership of the Vice President for Administration and Business, more than 10 energy and waste reduction projects were implemented throughout the year and monitored by the Sustainable Operations Executive Committee. The overall key performance indicators are in line with the reduction strategies and the HKUST 2020 Challenge.
